About Me
I graduated from a combined 6-year BA/MD program and completed residency in Emergency Medicine. My wife is also an EM physician, and we would advise everyone to do the same. It is truly the most rewarding job in the world.
I am the author of The Ultimate Emergency Medicine Guide, a comprehensive review book for EM residents and attendings to use for the annual in-training exam, ABEM board certification, and ABEM ConCert exams. It is the highest-rated and most up-to-date text available.
I have also written How to Not Kill your Patients : an educational and reflective look back at my first ten years as an attending physician. What I’ve learned from personal experience, what others have taught me after residency, and how to get the most out of a career in medicine.
I have over 15 years of experience working in community and academic departments. I also have considerable experience serving as a medicolegal consultant for both plaintiff and defense. If you have a case to discuss or need expert advice, please feel free to reach out.

If you have an idea for a book, I’d like to hear it. Comments or feedback for one of my books? I’d love to hear it. If you know a good joke, I’d really love to hear it.
