Dr. Khan has produced an excellent text that manages to cover the broad scope of emergency medicine while remaining concise and easily readable. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up and it will have a place on my bookshelf for years to come.

High-yield, full color, easy-to-read, and entertaining. Can’t ask for more than that in a review book…I would highly recommend this book for all levels, subintern to resident to fellow to attending physician.

The Ultimate EM Guide is concise but detailed, well written, clinically relevant, and up to date. It even has a sense of humor. It’s appropriate for all levels of training and even for those who are recertifying. Overall a great review book for all emergency medicine physicians.

The unique features of Dr Khan’s book are: 1. It’s no-nonsense, plain and straight; 2. It’s style is enjoyable to read; 3. There is space for jotting down your own notes; 4. There is a very pedagogical interplay between text, page layout and Pictures. Good Medical books should be FUN to read! This is typically NOT the case. The Ultimate EM Guide, however, is an exception.

The way the information is delivered with pictures and questions in between topics is superb, better than most books out there… I would highly recommend this book to medical students and attendings in emergency medicine.

I’m a resident in one of the big Chicago EM programs. Bought this book because it was relatively inexpensive and thought I’d give it a try. Really liked it because it’s very focused on what you need to know for the Inservice. My percentage score went up 11 points, I definitely think this book helped focus my studying for what’s tested. Would definitely recommend!

Great study guide for the emergency medicine recertification exam. Easy to read. More relevant info than online national emergency medicine board review.
